I understand that you may have many initial questions about beginning counselling and I hope to answer some of them below.

Once you have made initial contact we can schedule a 15 minute appointment to allow you to ask any questions and see if counselling is what you are looking for. We can then decide on a day and time that your sessions will be held on and the start date for this.

Each session is 50 minutes long and held at the same time and day each week. This gives you consistency with your appointments and means that your session time will be for you only.

This is an often asked question and the answer is individual to you. I offer both short and long term work, depending on your needs and what you want to get from counselling. We can review your feelings around how the process is for you periodically and work with your goals.

The model of counselling I work with is non-directive. This means that I won't be giving you advice or telling you what I think you should do. My role is to support you to reach your own decisions and any changes you may want to bring about.

I am not able to end your session later if you arrive late to our appointment, so they will always finish at the same time.

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy meaning that if you are unable to give me more than 24 hours notice you will be charged the full amount for the session. If I can offer an alternative appointment that week you won't be charged.

I follow the necessary precautions to protect us both within the room. The room is ventilated with the seating arranged 2m apart and surfaces are cleaned in between each client. I am fully vaccinated and I encourage the use of hand sanitiser on entering the room.
